Small French car with 3 lug nuts

I used to live in France, and I keep a couple RENAULT R5's out in the yard to remind me of it. Great car in France, not so great here. Cooling system has trouble to keep up in July in Southern Arizona.

I read that Renault changed the LeCar name to LeCinque? I read that they did not want LeCar since it was not French enough (they also changed other Frenglish words like lecashflow, etc).

That's funny, but if they had done that it wold be LeCinq, and they never called it LeCar in France. Most French people would either chuckle or have never heard of it. It was the R5, and there was the SuperCinq version BTW, that would as close as it came.
The French are very defensive of preserving the language....so Walkman became Baladeur, le week-end became Fin de Semaine, but the Academie Francaise is more interested in offering alternatives to English words rather than just eradicate the English language. More of a threat to languages in this country is the English only movement. But I think the Japanese are seeing a greater invasion of English.....ketchup is ketchapu.....disk is disku.....if unsure in Japan try English with a U on the end.
