Well, the Peel is something by itself, but the UK has sometimes done very well with small three and four wheelers. I can't imagine anyone here that would not want a Morgan "trike:"
I was once acquainted with a fellow who campaigned a VERY successful 500cc, 3-cylinder Berkeley-Excelsior in SCCA "I Production" in the '50s. There was nothing else in IP, so he ran with 750cc HPs (SAABs, Fiat Abarths, etc.) and clocked them. It was a bit extreme with three Delorto carbs, and three fat pipes running out of the grill area and down behind. A road-going Berkeley-Excelsior:

I like those - never got a chance to run into one (see one) that I can recall. Just read some great articles about them in some old car magazine.
Old Smart is right, Britain has a cottage industry of specialist and kit cars, and a few of them are trikes, this is the one I would have, the Grinnall Scorpion, it has the back end of a BMW Motorbike and does 0-60 in about 3.5 secs, not too good in the bends though as it only has 3 wheels and back end has a tendancy to break away too easily, but still loads of fun.
Saw this yeasterday morning on the news. Think safety went right out the window...oh wait there isn't a window...trying to be like us smarties...oh wait, we have we Smarties have safety ratings, windows and radios!! It's a cockpit on wheels! Is there an ejection seat?? (Nothing personal Jetfuel) Last I knew PUMA was a fast cat, this thing, for the lack of a better term goes what 35mph. Hummm...PUMA now stands for Pretty Ugly Miserable Attempt!!!
