IMHO, if it isn't built here, it shouldn't be allowed to be bought under CARS........ including the smart.

Yaris' are pretty hard to find in my area. Whenever I swing by the dealer to check them out, they never seem to have any at all. This was BEFORE the cash for clunkers program too.

As far as the Ford's. A lot of Ford owners are hardcore. Once a Ford owner, always a Ford owner. coughjetcough.

It's also sad that the Smart could not have made the list of new cars purchased. (Not enough new Smarts for purchase.) I wonder what rank Smart earned in that list?

All per Wikipedia, all in all, that's not so bad. Honestly, I was not surprised that the Prius or the Hondas were made in Japan, but I thought that Hyundai had moved the Elantra to Alabama along with the Sonata. I WAS suprised that the Ford, Dodge and Chevy were all assembled in the US, at one point, Nissan, Mitsubishi and Toyota had more cars assembled in the US than the big three did.
