Fridays trend lower because traffic increases and becomes more stupid.

But this is the first generation iQ - the one that is rated at 65 mpg (Imperial) in Europe, which translates into 54 mpg (US), the one that people have been claiming will get 50 mpg when it comes here, the one with a 1.0 liter/67 hp engine, the one that weighs only 1942 pounds. 42 mpg is not very good under any circumstances for a car that is supposed to get 54 mpg.
The Scion iQ, which they had on display in NY & which is the concept car for what theey're planning for production in the US, has a 1.33 liter/97 hp engine. It weights 2094 pounds
before they've added any US required safety & emissions equipment. They're only claiming 38 mpg for this 2nd generation iQ. I'm guessing that it will be even lower - just as this iQ on Fuelly comes in well below the mpg claims for it.
