Toyota IQ (Scion IQ) may be no go...good for smart!!!

Small article in the latest Motor Trend noted that Scion iQ may be delayed or no go in US...due to no cheap possibility of installing electric/hybrid drive. What we will likely end up with will be a reworked Yaris platform for 2012 which can readily accept electric drive variations. This leads me to believe that outdated smart platform may still be in the game!!! Go smart Oh wait Fiat 500 is still coming

Actually, that would just mean that someone's market research confirms there is no viable market for premium small cars in the US.

By the way, I saw the iQ for the first time last week and it looked very good to my eyes. Had three people on board. My wife was not impressed, though.
