We stopped buying stuff. Most of us had our net worth cut in half. I should now go out and spend an amount that bought a nice house on something that will not be new and shiny in just a few years. Honda (not a V8 for sale) pulled out of F1. In the immortal words of Warren Zevon the **** has hit the fan.
So I like folk music, sue me.

?????

There is only one unionized Toyota plant [California] in the US out of 10 to 12 total.

This loss is for worldwide operations, not just the US. I guess we now will know the break-even point [the amount of sales required vs. cost of goods sold]for Toyota vehicle sales world-wide. The souce also said that a [non-union] plant will not be built in Mississippi until the economy and sales improve, and that various cost cutting measures, including downstaffing will be put in place.

Lost on the page

I'm afraid the sarcasm was on the same flight to Puerto Rico that went over my head.

I note the dead silence on this topic, considering how Toyota. and every other overseas based car company, has been held up as as shining example [in contrast to the US companies] by a multitude of posters on the forum, and a still full of Southern Senators.

chirp-chirp-chirp the crickets are sure loud this evening...

Have you got a link to the news article? That might give us something to discuss.
