Aside
The talk of cameras and monitors has me thinking of another application. I would like to take the smart SCCA Road Rallying, but only in the "Stock" class (totally "un-equipped"). That class requires that only the stock odometer in the stock position can be used, and that may not be easy for the navigator to see, especially a navigator with aging eyes. But it doesn't say that I can't train a camera on the instrument cluster and place a monitor in the glove box. Hmmm.
Nope, won't fly in the SCCA Old Dominion Region. A quick call to my ODR rally master indicates that moving the/an odo read-out to an alternate location (via video link) would put me in the "Limited" class, and there are better ways of doing things if that were the case. Oh well.
I didn't ask about sticking a credit card flat magnifier over the trip odo read-out just to make it more readable from afar.
