The Abarth version of the 500 is similar in dimension to BMW AG’s Mini Cooper but goes the Mini one better in that it has a race-car heritage dating back to the 1950s.
The article's author seems to have forgotten (or overlooked) the Mini's racing/rally heritage.

This is the only car I've seen that I could possibly consider as a replacement for my smart.
I'd love to get one of these for my wife, but I just don't see it as a good family car. Might make the 19 hour trip to Disney a bit difficult with two boys in the back.
I'm hoping that the Fiat 500 will be my next car purchase.I'm chomping at the bit for them to arrive in America.I used to live in Italy in the early 70's and drove one of the original concept Fiat 500's then.It was almost as fun to drive as our Smart is now.
Cude, we live in interesting times if you are a micro car enthusiast... and I think we here fit the bill. The Fiat 500, the IQ, maybe a Renault Cleo.. the more the better, I say!
Speaking of sending kids by UPS, at one time you could actually "mail" children via the USPS's (then the US Post Office's) parcel post service. Alas, you can no longer...
