What exactly are our options for small cars in the US?

No, it wasn't a Zebra - this had a gas engine and it was sportier than a Smart. A Xebra is about as sporty as an ABlounge except the ABlounge is faster, cheaper and more reliable to use as a vehicle. (I still can't remember the name though) It was in the $19-21k range was their estimated price.

there is the BMW with a clear roof (C-1), also a chinese version found on ebay. my old neighbor has one, I don't think she spent too much for it. really looks awesome, great gas mileage and a roof & seatbelt I think. the chinese rip-off version looks like the c-1's roof, but has 2 small wheels in rear. saw her do a crazy lean once.
