Whee GO Whip is Really a 450?

AltCar 2009: Wheego Whip Quick Drive - is this the Cadillac of NEVs? — Autoblog Green

Look at the door, the door handle, the overall shape, the rear side windows, the center air vent, etc. It looks practically the same the For Two 450s.

No my friend that is a Chinese knock of from a couple of years ago. they were stopped for a while as MB sued them... I guess that now they are trying to pass it off as an electric.

I did some digging and yes, sato7 and cassini75 it seems you are both right.

I was wondering how Wheego could get away with that. Now I know.

Now the question is, since it is an electric vehicle and the new electric drive ForTwo is obviously the 451 model, would MB still try to stop them? I think they probably should because most average Americans would think its from "the sayum people that make that thar smart car."

Nope, Chinese knock off. If you look at all of the Chinese made "smart" EVs they share the same bodyshape.

It's longer and not as safe.

this one: Wheego Whip EV

ZEV2GO EV

Wildfire WF120-2C

Shuanghuan Noble

With a reminder of the name I found the old thread that resonated with me:

And guess what?

Noble supplies Wheego and ZEV with the car, and they just stamp their logo on it!

I feel like solving this once and for all. Quick, somebody buy a Noble and slam a smart logo on it. Maybe this time smart will win in court.

Quote:
The Greek court determined that "an informed buyer would not confuse the Noble with the Smart Fortwo." They also stated that because the two vehicles offer different technical specifications, any exterior styling similarities are irrelevant and almost inevitable because they're both mini-cars.
And what about buyers who are not informed?

What about the interior?

Toyota figured out how to design a minicar that doesn't resemble the smart at almost any range. (the Aygo, the iQ)

It tops out at 40mph, but due to state laws it's governed to 25-35mph depending on state.

And I bet that its lifespan is just 1,000 miles too......not a quality made knock-off.
