Who's your pick for 2010 WDC? (F1)

2010 is around the corner, so who's your pick for the 2010 WDC?

I'll go out on a limb (not too far) and pick Schumacher. Brawn + Mercedes + Schumacher = WDC

I'm a longtime fan of F1 and Schumacher (I married a German and lived in Germany 12 years). Not easy to find enthusiasts in the USA. (Thank god for the Speed Channel). Seems there are some pretty interesting rule changes this year. Besides a new points structure, I hear that refueling will not be allowed, nor will tire warmers. Should be a lively season!

Michael Schumacher + Brawn = #1 without a doubt. Ferrari is toast with Alonso the ultimate non team player. Kimi's gone and now the cars will be good and there will be no drivers with a personality! I've followed F1 for almost 50 years and this is the most boring group of drivers in F1 history, almost like having 24 'Tiger Woods' on the grid. Thanks Bernie, you turned it in to the ultimate corporate sport!

The new points system is also gonna place a premium on winning and getting on the podium too...

I'll drop in on the occasional F1 race, just as I do Barrett-Jackson car auctions on Speed. Used to watch F1 ALL THE TIME when they allowed a little more 'creativity' on their designs.....such as the 6-wheel Tyrell. It's also what pushed me away from Cart/IRL/ChampCar openwheel racing. The sanctioning bodies are killing the competitve spirit of the sport.

Nascar has followed the same path with having a 'spec car' and 'spec parts', so I'm about to give THEM the old 'heave-ho' as well.

But back to the topic at hand, while I DO believe that Schumacher IS the 'ultimate F1 driver' and Brawn has proven themselves, they are now in the mix with McLaren and MB. For me....too many variables. He'll win a few races, but the WDC? Too early to tell. I'll look in from time to time just to see if anything might interest me. Probably not, though......

I'm happy to see the Stigg back with Ross Brawn + the Mercedes backing, they have a good chance to continue being competitive.
Ferrari and Massa are back so I don't think it will be a sure win for Brawn, we will see how competitive the new Ferrari chassis is.
Lot's of interesting things happening this season with the rules changes, slightly narrower front tires, an American F1 team, etc.
About SPEED channel, despite them showing F1 their product has become very disappointing to me, waaaaaaaay too much non race related content. I don't care about a tow truck company's dramas, Monster Trucks, Pinks all out, Pass Time, Drag Race High, NASCAR programing till nauseum, cops chasing thieves, and on and on...........
Not enough real racing coverage, ALMS, Grand Am, Dakar (Argentina Chile), WRC, British Touring Car, Baja, DTM, Europen Touring Car, Motorcycle racing. Many mentioned are covered but ususally weeks later and late night, and hardly promoted.

I own a smart and love F1. smart and F1 have had many connections over the years. Back when smart and Getrag developed the smart transmission only the top F1 cars were using the teconolgy in F1. Now the tecnology has been on every F1 car since 1996. Both the smart and the modern F1 car have an engine placed ahead of the rear axel, along with rear wheel drive. Many drivers in F1 have owned smart cars including world champs Hamilton and Button.
