Another car I admire is the Ariel Atom for the same reasons.

The Seven is/was my favorite. But, within days of my medically forced retirement from competition driving (a non-racing, permanent arm injury) the car was sold, sight-unseen, for a good bit more than I was thinking of asking. So it goes.
Don't fall for the cycle-engine-in-a-Seven deal; Caterham tried it with a Honda Fireblade and the results were not good. You need grunty, foot-pounds of low/medium end torque, not some thin-arse, mega-reving sewing machine. And don't settle for a phony knock-off; go for the real Lotus/Caterham:

BTW, the Ariel Atom chassis are built-up by Arch Motors, as were/are Lotus, Caterham, March, Lola, Cooper, Ford Competitions, Chevron, and other professional racing machines.
