Removing that stupid padding (450)

If you are like me you think that padding that G&K had to install is ridiculous looking. If you have a coupe then you probably want to remove it from the glass roof or already have.

I have a cabrio and that padding on the pillars looked stupid. I decided to go ahead and yank it off today. Once you do you will find a mess of glue and adhesive tape all over the tridion. I found today that 3M makes a product called General Purpose Adhesive Remover. It is safe for automotive paint. It can be purchased from from Napa. It took a lot of elbow grease and old rags but after about 3 hours I was able to remove it all.

Ahh, it looks so much better now!

I tired Goof Off and WD-40. Neither one would cut through that thick black paper and adhesive that was compounded by the glue. It was a mess.

I did not take before pictures. Now I wish I had. I can snap some after pic's though if that is what you are looking for.

They are talking about the 450 model that was imported by G&K, not the 451.

Am I missing something?

I just want to make sure that this is the forum for the 450. Do we need to list with every post that this is for the 450 if we are in the 450 forum? I can see needing to list it on some of the other boards but I don't understand it on this one.

I just want some clarification for the future. Thanks!
