Security feature automatically locks me out - Canadian 450

Hi,
I have been having problems with my car that makes it so that the security option (the one that shows the little key symbol) Automatically locks me out. I know how to unlock it but every time I try to start the car again when it shows the N, it locks me out again. Does anyone know whats wrong?

Please be more specific. Where are you seeing the "N"? Radio screen? Instrument panel? What is the security option?

I think this is a (Canadian) 450 - you have to have it in N (neutral) to start. Is that what you mean?

I've never seen a key symbol on my 451.

I think I know what you mean, you unlock the car get in turn the key in ignition and the car won't start and shows key symbol on dash where N should be to start car.
If I have got you right it may be that you are waiting too long between unlocking the car and trying to start it, so either be quicker in turning key after unlocking it, or if this is not possible when you try to start car and it won't and key symbol shows, turn key to off position, press the button on key to unlock doors and then restart car.
The immobilisor cuts in after so long after unlocking the car.
If these things don't work you have an issue with the immobilisor.

Headless, is right in what he said. But i do not wait at all when trying to start the car i do it right away and it automatically turns on the immobilizer again. When this happens i turn the key back turn off the immobilizer and try again but the same thing happens and i get the key symbol showing up again and i cant start the car. The key symbol i am referring to is displayed where the gear is normally displayed (ie N, R, 1, 2, 3...). If it helps the first time this happened was after a -30 Celsius day and it is a Canadian model. Thank you all very much for your replies.

Fob's battery?
Since I'm not familiar with the Canadian... Ours NA 451 flashes the alarm (and beeps if you have the theft alarm) about nine times to alert that the fob/key battery is dying. Just another suggestion.

Sounds like the immobilizer or something wrong with your key.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I'm thinking it's the immobilizer as well. I will get it checked out

Yea it deffo sounds like you have a key/immobiliser issue after your second explaination, so you will have to take it to a main dealers for them to check it out.
On another note, it says you are from Calgary under your name!
I love Calgary, we have been twice, the last time we stayed for the Stampede.
What a really friendly place for a big city, and the stampede is awesome, we spent a fortume there, we bought a saddle and brought it back in our suitcase, we had to throw all our used underwear away to get it in
Hope to get back there soon but things are a little tight at the moment, as it is everywhere.

The Stampede is probably the only exciting thing that ever happens in Calgary. The rest of the year is so boring
lol you bought a saddle? Was it a souvenir or does someone in your family ride? I haven't actually spend much time in the main attraction; the rodeo. I'm only usually there for the rides and midway games. Did you watch the Rodeo?
