Side window visors...

Does anyone know of a manufacturer of side window visors for the SMART 451 model yet? We like to be able to allow our vehicles to vent during the day here in the sometimes hot Florida sun. We (wife and I) have them on both of our present vehicles (2006 Honda Ridgeline and 2005 Chevrolet Equinox) and use them quite a bit. Just wondering and any information would be greatly appreciated!!!;)

I have been looking for the vent visors also...I currently have them on my quad cab ram and love them..since having the vent visors, I have said that I would never own another vehicle without have them...but that may not be the case. I bought the vent visors from autoanything.com along with many accessories. I have contacted them asking them for smart accessories they replied to date they do not carry any accessories for the smart, but would contact me when they start.
I also would love to find some husky floor liners, I love those also

Side window visors attach the the top frame of the door.
Knowing that, go and look at your smart

No frame.

That said, there is a company that made them for the 450 but they attached to the tridion just above the doors, didn't look great.
Took 8 years for someone to make these parts for the 450, you are all too impatient

I contacted vent visor corporation. They said since the car is in the "mercedes" family, they will NOT be making any. Apparently in the past they are not permitted to make items for Mercedes. she would not elaborate, but its a NO for now....

That's strange. I own a '69 SL and there are quite a few vendors out there producing reproduction parts. In fact if the part is good enough MB will not duplicate and they will actually buy these reproduction parts for their restoration facilities.

Here's an intresting side story if you like vintage MB cars.

There was a guy out in California that ran a 300SL Gullwing and Roadster repair shop. One day he decided to dismantle his Gullwing and started to make molds of the various panels. Once he perfected that stage with the body panels he went to eastern Europe and Asia for reproduction parts. He had all the chrome pieces made in Poland and plastics made in Taiwan. These parts were so good and difficult to tell which one was authentic that MB started buying his reproduction parts. Almost all the members from the gullwing group purchased his parts. Long story short he made more money selling parts than he did seling reproduction 300sl's. His name was Tony Ostermeyer.
