An advertiser can pull a spot for any of a number of reasons. Viewers' negative feedback, corporate concern about litigation, lack of public response, et al.
But, I'm just thinking that if it is a decision made by the advertiser then 'banned' is not the proper term. Yes, legal action (especially governmental, FCC) would constitute banning, IMO.

Is this commercial banned?
Have you seen it broadcast since January? I haven't. No doubt expensive to produce, and very popular. Most popular commercials run for months, some for more than a year. I'm clueless as to why this Pepsi spot had such a short life, but it was not banned.

Oh, it is my YouTube post. But, that's irrelevant.

The fall of the Berlin wall may be too serious to be parodied in a Pepsi commercial.
That would be like using a fireman at the collapse of the twin towers quenching his thirst with a Pepsi in a commercial. Maybe the Execs. had some negative feedback and stopped running it.

who knows...

My point is, it was not banned. And, most of those posters would probably call it banned, because it only ran for a short time. If Pepsi pulled it for WHATEVER reason, that is not banned. That would be their choice. Not a banning.

For the FCC to ban any commercial is exceedingly rare. I believe for a major corporation to have a commerical banned is unheard of. It just doesn't happen. You'd never guess that if you search YouTube for banned commercials though.

When a station refuses to air a commercial... What is it's status?

LOL. First, that is rare. Broadcasters are whores. But, I'm sure there are some with integrity. I was in the business for 17 years and I saw first hand that the $$ matters most. I can't honestly tell you of an instance where an ad was turned down for a disagreement with the intent of the ad.

When he says I got burned his eyes shift downwards as if too look at his crotch. It's the first ever homosexual toaster oven I've ever seen in my life.

Don't you know you would get more hits on that Video if you used the word Banned in the title

Wow, LOL. I think that was hilarious!
Apparently the spot did in fact air on the Super Bowl in 2005 (according to this). I didn't see it, I don't watch sports. As noted, the 'broadcast censorship committee' is fictitious. Wild ad though.
