Blue Passion cabrio in Bethesda?

I was walking out of my office to go to lunch in my trusty VUE today, and while I was waiting to cross Old Georgetown at Cedar, a blue/silver (I think silver...) cabrio zipped by with the top down. Was that someone on here?

It looked and sounded good

Pick mine up today.

My yellow/black passion arrived last week at the Germantown dealer while I was out of town. I will be picking it up today.

! Congrats!

Was yours the one they had parked between 2 GL450s near the road? One of my users lives in Germantown and emailed me about it today - apparently he saw it on his way in.

I went and drove a Saturn Astra the other day. I must remain strong... I want the damn smart - I just need to confirm already!

I'll keep an eye out for you. I saw one other yellow/black one the other day - I was getting onto 495 from 355 and it shot around me coming off the ramp - I nearly drove off the road.

Was it your bumblebee driving north on 15th Street, NW, around 6:00 p.m.? My wife and I were sitting in the window booth of Ceiba, and that was the first 2008 Smart we saw on the road. We'll be picking up our red/black cabrio at Germantown today. See you around.

Neither of them. I got delayed and couldn't pick the car up until this morning. It had all of 7 miles on it, so I doubt anyone else was driving it around town. I had a blast driving it back from the dealer. With a bunch of fancy paddle work it was easy to learn how to overcome the lags in up and down shift times. Unfortunately, we had a bit of gusting wind today, so the car was shifting around in the lane at 70 mph. My wife got a bit nervous and proclaimed that if we were keeping the car, she would get the MINI and I would get the smart. The MINI will maintain it's composure in a hurricane and doesn't feel like it's about ready to fall over on the freeway ramps.

I gotta think about this. I'm not quite ready to turn my modified JCW MINI (0-60 in 5 sec.) over to someone else.

Oy... Ihoboy... good pics but sorry to see that it is for sale.

Are you sure you can't calm the Misses down and get her to try to get used to it?

Smarts (not) blowing in the wind

I realized yesterday that the bumblebee my wife and I saw in downtown Washington wasn't Hoboy's, when I went to the dealer about noon and found out that I just missed Hoboy, who had picked his up that morning. Sean and Rick recognized whose car it was, however; a White House employee coming home from work.

Funny, my wife was driving (she got the first drive, of course) in what must have been about the same weather, and the wind didn't bother her a bit. We thought the Smart handled it quite well.

Hmm, one of my coworkers spotted a blue smart on campus at NIH (where I work). I think it's probably the same one... but yea, still no dice as to if it is someone from here.
