Yah, but "Mid-Atlantic" somewhat presumes some mutual maritime connection. DE - the River and Atlantic seaboard; MD and VA - the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic inside passages; for DC - the Potomac, a major waterway of the northern ChesBay. Our weather patterns depend on that; we take crabs in the Summer and oysters in the Winter. We husband horses and vinyards all the way and over the Blue Ridge. So it is.

Mid-Atlantic Region

I'd rather not do it, but I have setup a secondary site for Mid-Atlantic Region smart people if nothing happens here: http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/...lantic_smarts/. As set up it is a "moderated" group, meaning that the owner (presently me) or a moderator (none at this time) must approve members based upon a minimum of declaired interest. This only to cull out "Nokia salesmen" and "harvesters."

It is presently very rudimentary; it can be fleshed-out in the future. I really don't have much interest in running it as I have another international yachting website that takes a lot of my time. Ownership can be transferred to anyone else very easily.

Nice Old smart

But I hope SCOA admins just get on with it and create the two new Regions of New England and Mid-Atlantic.

I agree. I care not to (have to) dilute SCOA.

So how many posts does it take to get the mods to make a subforum?

I'd say send a private message to the moderators. If they don't live in this area they may not be reading this section of the forums. Being moderators it would probably be a good thing they read it. Then again it may not be a moderator decision. Might need to be the owner. I'm sure if they got enough messages they'd be inclined to add that section.

Hey SCOA Admins adn Moderators!!!! Please listen

Pardon me Admins and Moderators but, if its not too much to ask for a separate region to be created for the Mid-Atlantic states (MD, DE, VA, DC). But not as a subset of the North East Region.
Call it Mid-Atlantic Region.
There are several members of SCOA from this region requesting it.

We have not been told a reason to why this can not be done.
Sure currently we do not have a large number of members listed (at least from those that bothered to list their location at all) yet between the four dealerships in the DC area alone, an estimated 100 - 150 smart cars were ordered. With more to come.
Can't expect that a smart owner from Boston would have the same transportation issues as someone in Richmond VA or Baltimore MD? I'm speaking of course about local transportation car issues and driving times, distinct to our own regions. They will certainly not drive 6 hours for a smart event in Richmond Va.

Well I sent a private message to all 4 SCOA moderators with the following text

"There is need for a new Mid-Atlantic Region for Smart owners in the Maryland, Delaware, Virginia and Washington DC area. Several SCOA members that live in this region have agreed that we need a Mid-Atlantic Region, but there has been no response from SCOA since we started the thread two weeks ago.
What can we do to get this request done.

Thanks"

Let see if this gets things moving for a new Mid-Atlantic Region
