December Meet and Greet

Ok this is the official call for a meet and greet in which i will be the sole organizer of. The date I will be creating a poll as to what the date everyone is good with, but if there are any of you familiar with the Festival of Lights in Bull Run park outside of Centerville. VA it is a great light show that is a 2 mile drive ending in a little Village with many food vendors, gift stores and even a carnival for the younger crowd, or the young at heart. Stay tuned for more details, and more importantly a poll to get an idea of which saturday is best for all. The plan is to all meet at the Centerville Starbucks Coffee for a little hot chocolate, or whatever the mood is. and then head off as a group to the light show. I am in class and my teacher is trying to get my attention.

Hot Chocolate sounds great, but the park doesn't not allow alcohol on the property. Off the park area, i am sure it is ok

#1386 here. I just did a Mapquest and found out that there are 7 different Centervilles in Virginia. Which one are you talking about. My 2009 is scheduled to arrive by Veterans Day. The 20th is my birthday. I'll opt for the 6th then the 13th.

Here are the details of the meet and greet for December. I hope that you all will accept my humble apoligies for the vauge details, but here is the full scoop on what is in store.

Bull Run Regional Park has an annual festival of lights display that runs all through the holiday seasson. This will be my firist time going to this event, but from what i understand, it is a very good event. Here is a link to their web site for more info. There are directions on getting there for those whom are planning to come from out of town, or the Maryland and DC folks

Now since this begins at about 5.30 Pm what would be very cool is for the group to meet at the Starbucks on Lee Highway and Centerview drive at 4.00 pm for coffee, or whatever you like. From there, we will go on as a group to the place as a little winter convoy. As if this did not get any more interesting I added a little oppurtunity to really get into the holiday sprit with a little contest within. I introduce to you as an oppurtunity to get some interesting pictures for this forum

Deck The Smarts!!!!

Yes this is an oppurtunity to really show off your holiday cheermister and what have not by decorating your Smart with as much Christmas decorations,lights and more as you are willing to go. I will be giving a special prize to the top three enthusitasts whom can get creative with thier cars. The one thing i ask is PLEASE DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO THE CAR THAT WILL POSE A HINDERANCE TO YOUR DRIVING ABILITY. You get the idea, im sure. I did post a poll as to what date everyone is ok with, from that poll, i will decide the game plan from there. Even though this is posted for our local group, anybody from out of the Dc area is most welcome to join us. There are hotels within the area if one need to stay overnight. Let the good times roll, and i will be following this thread very closely

BTW that second item in the poll was really meant to be December 13th. I was doing this quick as i did not want to get snagged by the teacher for goofing off.

I'll be there. I drive by the lights every year and I have yet to go. I may even dress my smart up for the trip

Thanks for taking point on this event.

I would suggest that you add "ANY OF THE ABOVE" to your poll options?

I can make myself available on any of the three Sat's in question.

(You also have the option of "editing" the poll to correct Dec 12 to Dec 13?)

I thank you Wallace for your sugesstion to change the poll to reflect the actual date of 12-13-08 which was corrected by our trusty moderator, plus there is an option to place a vote for any of the dates is fine with me, and an opt out vote. BTW that is a very good idea. As well the expiration of this poll has been extended to November 1, which will give many the option for feedback.
This is the first time that I have ever pulled off a gathering like this, and really i am looking forward to that one and the upcoming one less than a week away. I do have a question , who is taking the month of November for a greet and meet? Anyway, i thank those who voted already, and as always, i will be checking this thread daily.
