what was your expirience in receiving advance notice for the delivery of your smart car? i want to take a vacation but i am hesitant because the front end of my dde is 6-22.

Just say exactly that to Gary, he'll put a note on your folder.
To appease yourself, you may want to give him a way to contact your while you're gone (cell phone, or something) just in case. But, to start with, you have to remember that you have a grace period of 30 days guaranteed to "take it or leave it". ;)
