Earth Day 2009

I was planning to arrive between Noon and 1pm, stay a few hours and head home around 3pm. All depending on how things go. I wasn't sure if the dealer had any ideas of where they want us to park, etc. I hope they provide additional details like where they will be located at the event....

Just talked to Aran at the dealership. The smart car display will be at Shelter 4. That's in the group of shelters, volleyball courts, and playgrounds that are between the lake and Mt. Trashmore. There is a map available on the Mt. Trashmore website, upper right.

Shelter 4 isn't shown, but it's above shelter 3 on the other side of the path. I'm going to try and get into that parking lot next to the office sometime between 10 and 11. (Maybe if I tell the park people I'm part of the display? ) According to the earth day website, people are encouraged not to drive into the park, but park at satelite lots and take a free shuttle. But Astuto wants to be in the middle of the action!!!

We won't be able to get there until about 2 and considering we can't really park together, I am thinking it is not worth coming from Williamsburg.

The day was awesome - tons and tons of people came to the display while the hybrid vehicle display next door to us received very little. I almost felt bad for the hybrid guy standing there all alone. But it seems he was bad-mouthing the Smarts to anyone who would listen <shrug> go figure.

Thank you Beth and Erin for hanging out for the day! it was a blast!
