Feedback on the Smart Center in VA Beach?

Just curious if anyone has any comments (good or bad) on the Smart Center in VA Beach, VA?

So far I have been impressed, but I have yet to get my smart, so I am curious if anyone has had a different experience with them???

One smart Center VA Beach Experience:

I picked up my car Saturday at Virginia Beach Smart. It was a very smooth operation. Everyone was very courteous and considerate. No flim flam or trying to sell me anything I didn't want. A extended warranty was offered and I declined. I have bought many new cars over the years, this one was the best experience. Gary told me he had 116 names on the Orphan list. His first shipment was; 2 showroom Cabriolets, 2 Demos and 1 customer car. My car was one of the 7 cars in the second group to be delivered. He said he had more cars in Baltimore waiting shipment.

The trip home was 102 miles in medium traffic on Interstate 64. The car handled great and proved to me the car can run 80 MPH with no problems keeping up with traffic and passing the big rigs.

We put about another 50 miles on it Saturday night Sunday running around town, lots of looks, smiles, questions and a few who just looked at the car and shook their head in disbelief.

The transmission in the drive mode is not exactly zippy when starting from a dead stop, once moving it is just fine. Using the shift paddles puts the zip back where you can be first away from the light, unless a kid in a Mustang is in the other lane.

My wife is not a car person, but in just one day she can tell someone more about the Smart than she can about her full size Mercedes.

It was worth the wait and the money. No regreats."

Thank you! I will be working with Gary in a few months when my smart arrives. What you have said here tells me I don't have anything to worry about.

I can tell you that their service Manager Greg Lee is excellent too. Very honest and genuine.

I think we have a winning smart Center here.... Thanks again for the comments, it has proved to me that this smart center is not just "another car dealership"

VA Beach dealer

I am in Lynchburg VA (picked mine up in Cary NC) and just learned that the MB dealer here got a silver/silver passion from the VA Beach dealer and has it on their lot for $21K (sticker ~$16K)

I picked mine up on april 9th in Va Beach. The sales manager is great (Gary Gullickson). I had a great experience there. Although, I think I knew more about the car then the sales associate. If they have 'em in stock, get the rubber floor mats ($51 for the pair)

Bought my Pure 5/30 in Va. Beach. Processing fee was $399, Title tax $414.27, Dealer's Bus. license Tax $27.62, On-line filing fee $10.00( assume this was because they filed with DMV on line), license, title fee $49.50. This was an orphan. I had been making a pest of myself for weeks before, checking on any cars they got and trying to find a more exact date for mine. Gary and the salesmen were ALWAYS nice. On the day of sale, Gary offered me the extended warrenty, which I declined. There was NO pressure to buy it. I had question about oil changes based on what I had read here so I asked Greg. He took the time to explain the facts to me, including a line item break-down of the cost( even though it was after 6 on a Friday and he was finished for the day). I suggested that they have a workshop on how to fix a flat. It's been a great experience.

I happened to be in the scVAB area as a close-in reserver this morning. The dealership opens at 1000, but the service department opens at 0830. I was there early, and had a lot of quiet, quality time with the senior service tech, as has been otherwise posted here. Any question asked was answered honestly and thoroughly to the extent that he knew a reliable answer. He wasn't scripted. I have no problems with scVAB.

Gary was very great at always getting back to me when I called as the final days before purchasing/picking up my smart. This is also my first car and Gary was very helpful and got all the information I needed to get my loan and insurance all underway so my 2 hour drive was all for not.
