May 30th sounds great. Does someone out near Annapolis have some time to dedicate to setting this up. I am assuming we can bbq at the park.

May isn't the best month to do Annapolis. Hating to be the wet blanket of the group. With USNA graduation the end of the month, there will be untold numbers of people milling around and beach traffic will be starting around that time too.

I did go out to the web site and found this info:
Admission - In Season - 4/18/09 through 11/01/09 (Weekends/Holidays)
$5.00 per person Maryland residents
$6.00 per person non-Maryland residents

And there are picnic areas but no BBQ'ing on the beach itself.

I have been there in May-June and it's not bad at all. We wouldn't expect a park with a beach like that to be empty after all. Summer time is approaching fast and everyone wants to go out... As one last voice of reason, I live 5 miles from Sandy Point, so traffic for me won't be a problem. But, with 3000 Midshipmen graduating that week, with their parents, sibs and grandparents in the area ... all in this tiny town, along with the "usual" reach the beach folks ... I once again mention that the end of May is NOT the time to be in Annapolis.

Majority rules though ... so if everyone knowing what they'll be getting into, still wants to go to Sandy Point ... so be it. I've done all I can to tell you what you'll be facing.

OK...I'm game for a change. I just thought it'd be nice to come over the river for the next meet.

My wife and I are members of a gun club in Frederick County Near Point of Rocks, MD. We could reserve the club for the day after 2pm on May 30. This would give us a large parking lot and indoor facilities. There will be no shooting that day after 2pm and the club would be ours. We could bbq and make it a potluck.

That sounds like a great idea. If you get the club, i have a suggestion. Do a poll to see who is bringing what and by last name. That way there wont be any duplicate dishes, or a bazillion versions of baked beans. I for one will contribute some food for sharing.

We will be out at the club on Wed. night so let me know and I can reserve it fo the 30th. I know we can BBQ burgers, dogs, sausage, or what ever. Sounds like it could be a plan.

sandy points good for us or point of rocks what ever the group decides we are game for it just let us know we will be more than glad to contribute some thing just not baked beans ( sorry like the ac and they might make it interesting (LOL) )working for coca cola does have its benefits hint hint on what we might be bringing.get back to us
