Service bulletin on 09 Smart

I got a call a couple of hours ago asking me to bring my 09 in for a service bulletin, the lady said it was about the battery. It is 100 miles one way, so I asked if Smart was going to send a truck to pick up the car. For me to take, the car in I would have to take a day off work. I asked them to send me a copy of the service bulliten, if it does not require parts or special tools I would do it myself. She said the Service manager would try and get a copy and email it to me.

Has anyone else been called in for a service bulliten on their 09?

Who exactly called you?
Please describe your fortwo-(alarm?comfort?)
When/where did you take delivery?

Virginia Beach Smart Center Called, I picked up the car there late Nov. The car is a early 09. All the lady said was she wanted me to bring it in for a service bulliten, something to do with the battery, she said she would have the Service Manager contact me tomorrow. That is all I know at the moment. The car is standard Passion with driving lights, alarm and 6 CD player.

I purchased my Smart from Va.B. 2 weeks ago, Not sure when the Bulletin came out, but I haven't received any calls yet. I will have my wife ask tomarrow when she calls in about our Registration stuff.

I just talked to the Smart Service at Virginia Beach, the Service Bulletin replaces a battery cable, that is all. According to the lady I talked to it seems some of the cables installed were not holding up well (whatever that means?). Anyway, she said it was warranty work and the car can be brought in anytime. It is not an urgent thing to do, but should be done as soon as convient.

Got an answer to my email to my Service Manager.

He states that their are TSB's for the 08's but NONE for the 09's

The 09 TSB must just be for you Virginia smarties

I received a letter today stating that my 08 Passion can be scheduled for a trans. PC flash update which is designed to make shifting smoother. I also believe that a battery upgrade is available for 08s with the comfort package. I will call tomorrow to schedule the work and will ask about the battery issue. I haven't had any problems with a dead battery, however, others on this site have.
