I was in Hungates Toys and Hobbies at Pembroke Mall this evening. They're expecting a shipment of model car kits on Wednesday and will have smart car kits. If interested call Rick at 490-6086. He said he might be able to work out a deal if our group wants to buy a bunch. He said they're unpainted and he wasn't sure if they were passion or pures. I left my name and phone number for him to call me when they come in.
Please see if you can find out the manufacturer. I'm into models and would love to build a smart car. I know Maisto seems to be the only one to be making diecasts, but I was hoping that someone like Tamaya would come out with a 1/18 or larger DETAILED plastic model.
OR I can call your local shop myself if you provide the area code. I'm guessing it's in VA somewhere?
I'm interested but don't know scale, cost, quality, or any of a number of other small details. I'd love to have a merlot-red cabrio model. The $55 Smart diecasts from the dealer are superb cars but the swap-out panels weren't amenable to painting.
Finally a Smart car model kit. I been bugging the local hobby shops for one, and BTW I am a model car builder. Who makes it, and what does it look like? I hope they have it so a pure can be built. I need one to add to my extensive collcetion of scale model cars.

These are the plastic kits that are in hobby shops. They come unassembled and unpainted.
