Thanks for the posts!
So here's what I did...I went to the local JAX car wash in Birmingham...I asked them if they've washed any Smarties, and if it was ok to go through...the manager/supervisor said they have a few that go through regularly, and they haven't had any issues. So, I did the exterior wash with the wax, tireshine etc...everything came out fine. I inspected the car as they were drying it, and everything was great. Driving home, the car sounded a little different...as though it had water in places it didn't prefer water...but nothing serious...it was back to normal in an hour. The left side of the car (the side that was on the rollers) was really nice and super clean...the right side, however, was just clean...not super clean. I mean, it makes sense...the brushes weren't exactly making complete contact.
So, I think for regular cleaning, I'll just use some environmentally friendly soap or waterless car cleaner...but I still need to figure sothg out for when the underbody needs to be cleaned in the winter.
BTW, they charged me the full price for my little smartie! haha! I tried to flash a smile, tell them I had "half a car" and get a discount, but all I got back was a "nice try", a smile and a premoistened wipe for my dash haha! I don't know that it's really "worth it" to go through that wash again.
