Got my Smart today!!

After waiting a year I finally picked up my Smart today. She's so cute and makes me smile, and has such an adorable smile of her own I named her Smiley! I figured the name would come to me when I got to meet her, and sure enough. So far I love it! Was a bit daunted at the dealership that they get money from you for everything. Kind of wish I had a warning on that one. Has anyone else opted for the Tire Protection plan? I did get the $165 floor mats in red. They look really nice with the red highlights on the outside of Smiley, although she is bright yellow.
Anyway, looking forward to my time ahead with Smiley and the adventures we will have.

Welcome to another Michigan smartie! I got the mats in red, too (I have a red cabrio). I think they were well worth the money and will be great in the winter, too. I also got the tire protection plan and extended my warranty by one year.

Where in SE Michigan are you? Have you come to any of our sMUG events?

I put pics in the gallery area and in my photo album. At least I think I did, these sites aren't always easy to maneuver. I haven't attended any sMug events cause I didn't know I could if I didn't have my Smart yet, but I will now I live in Ann Arbor. Funny thing about being noticed, I was driving around town minding my own business and I got a call from my boss asking me if I was driving around town in a "little banana". Since I rarely hear from her, unless I'm in trouble, I found it funny that you really can't go incognito. I did mention to her though that it was a bit bigger than a banana, but not by much!

congrats "Kawgirl"......nice ride! living here in Indy and growing up around racing, your color combo (yellow, black and red pinstripes) reminds me of the Pennzoil Cars that ran in the 500 for a number of years, some of which were, ironically, owned by Roger Penske.

yours may not go as fast, but i'm sure it's just as much fun to drive!

I assume you got your Smart at Bloomfield Hills, correct? I picked mine up from there just over a month ago and still look forward to driving her every day! I did not opt for any of the extra stuff they pushed. However, mine was an orphan and already was overpriced for what I would have ordered, but wouldn't trade her for anything. I get to Ann Arbor area a couple times a month and will have to be on the lookout for your bumblebee.

I picked mine up Monday and she still only has 60 miles on her. We had our driveway re-done, so instead of leaving her on the street, she's in the garage, safe and sound. Tomorrow is day one of driving to work, I can't wait!

I have the black Cabrio with every factory installed option except the alarm. I did get the nav. radio with XM and the floor mats, and the tinted windows.

I also opted for the 5/100K warranty and the tire warranty. These MI roads are too bad. I wanted the warranty since there is very little history with these vehicles in the states and I don't want a huge bill down the road.

I opted out of the tires protection, but got all the other bells and whistles. I figured I have never had a big issue with the Michigan roads, and I don't plan on starting. I guess it's a $500 gamble. I also got the nice floor mats. The red highlights look good with my Yellow Smiley's red strips
