Greetings from Traverse City. I made my initial reservation May 15, 2007, reconfirmed Dec 24, 2007. Nothing since. I know that when I take delivery it will be from Bloomfield Hills, but how about maintenance? Will I have to bring the car to Bloomfield Hills each time or have arrangements been made with select Mercedes dealerships around the state for any maintenance that might be needed, including scheduled maintenance?

Akekalos, I am a 1173 and picked my car up on day 3 from Bloomfield. They said it was the first car to go north of Lansing. I have a silver on silver Cabrio. Flew to Detroit and drove my Smart home. It has unfortunately been in the garage since (almost 3 weeks) due to snow!!
Regarding a Smart get together, I can do this in the summer, but won't drive my baby back near Detroit in the winter.
Smart TC! my wife is from Grayling. we travel to TC every summer and are actively looking for a small cottage on the outskirts of TC. i could go for a cinnamon roll at the omlette shoppe right now. we live in jacksonville beach, fl.
Hey Jax! I was born and raised here and did live in Florida for 4 years. You need to give me a call when you guys get this way for breakfast at the Omelette Shoppe. What did you order for your smart?
MSUDVM - You need to get out and drive a bit in this terrible weather, I'm curious to hear how she handles. I'm guessing the 1173 are the last four digits in your confirmation number, if so mine is 1230. Hope that means I'm getting close. My son and I are already looking forward to the trip to Bloomfield Hills and the drive home.
Due to circumstances beyond my control I have just cancelled my reservation for my smart fortwo. Not because I don't want it, mind you. It's just that the timing of its arrival is very bad for me. Yes, I said it has arrived. It's been sitting at the dealer in Bloomfield for two weeks now.
It's a black/black/black passion coupe with the premium sound system, fog lamps, alarm, power steering and tach/clock.
VIN is WMEEJ31XX8K091716. Out the door delivered price is $16,523.60. I don't know how Bloomfield handles orphans, but it wouldn't hurt to call if you're interested!
I'm so sorry you have decided to cancel ,but life sometimes throws curve balls we are not expecting. I've had my share too.
I know from our conversations on this board that you were really looking forward to picking up your car. But buck Up... Another fun experience will come your way to take it's place. It always does. Thanks for letting us know.
I just got my "new" vanity license plate today. "NCRDBLE" I wanted to reuse my "smart center bloomfield" plate frame but it covered to much of the lower portion of my MI license plate. I wanted use the frame because it is black, like my tridion saftey cell, and I live in Bloomfield Hills.
I took my neice and nephew to the Bloomfield dealership yesterday (Friday) to show them the smart car. Of course they thought they were "very cool", but while we were there I noticed something new.
As we walked toward the back prep area, were they detail the cars that are being readied to be picked up by their owners, I saw a guy pinstriping a smart. I told him I didn't realize pinstriping was an option Bloomfield offered. He told me he just started that day, and that he already had done one and was doing eight more that day. That's a total of 10. I asked how much he charged and he told me I'd have to talk to a sale associate...that he didn't know how much the dealer charged. After a few minutes, Shane Reed, the Sales and Business Manager walked in. He told me the price was $125.00.
As I understood it, the default job consisted of a double line a coulpe of inches below the window line, from the front of the car to just below the door handle, on both sides...and a double line across the tailgate. It was, in my opinion, subtle enough to look like it was done at the factory. You would, as the owner, decide what colors you wanted, and he would take it from there.
Let's hope this is an option we can decline: a GMAC comptroller friend of mine told me that pinstriping costs about $17.50 a car, including workmanship. More profit for the Dealer!
