I think there are many here that are totally misinterpreting the intentions of those who have expressed their feelings of frustration from the way they have been treated. I have expressed those feelings simply to let those at the top who may be reading these forums see how their actions or lack of same affect the very individuals who have and will make them successful.
I also received lots of public relations training in my career and know that if nobody ever brings their disappointments to the surface they most likely will not be dealt with in a positive way.
People who have pointed out shortcomings are NOT a bunch 'hotheads' or 'wild, irresponsible individuals' and those who choose to jump on the 'condemnation bandwagon' are bordering on having condescending attitudes.
I think some feel that when a company chooses to tell their customers that they can become 'insiders', then that company has in essence made a verbal commitment to step up the communications to those 'insiders' to keep them informed, otherwise, it's just a sham.
I think most of us who have expressed disappointments along the way, have used words like 'disappointed' to show our sentiments. Sure some have become angry, but I suggest that it would have taken the least little bit of communication from the top to keep those feelings in check.
I would suspect that most would agree that one of the main purposes of a forum like this is provide support for one another and not to take 'holier than thou' stances and put people down who may not feel the same as you do.
Since the main company has so much information about how to get in contact with us all, and can contact us to wish us happy holidays, then they should be able to simply tell us what is going on. It almost seems like certain 'insiders' have tidbits of information leaked to them, but then nobody is sure of how 'official' that is.
We're told one thing about how no dealerships will be opening yet because of delays, but then there's the Smart House that's been open for quite some time. I don't feel that people are demanding all the storefronts have to be open, I just think people are confused and tired of being in the dark. If you go back and read how much misinformation has been posted, or information has changed since it was posted, it just makes it more obvious why the company's
PR person should be working overtime to keep people informed with accurate up-to-date information, even if it changes later on.
Let's not confuse wanting to be treated 'decently' with being over-demanding and not understanding. We all have our own opinions and I hope this forum doesn't ever make people feel that they are not welcome to express them as they relate to the Smart car.
