Here is an example of Candy Apple Red.

And Candy Apple Green:

One point of caution, many painters like to add enormous amounts of gold flake to the candy apple paint to give it an extra shine!

Agreed. Some paint colors themselves cost more, especially reds. Chrysler charges an extra $225-250 for metallic red on their new cars, and I saw a new Cadillac recently with amazing red paint that was an extra $995.

Sorry, 1998 called and they want their Candy Apple Red back.

different strokes for different folks I guess, but yuck Candy Paint is just as outdated as chameleon and hood bras.

Maybe worth it, if you had someone reproduce your body panels in steel, but to put any money into preparing plastic for such a paint job would be absolutely crazy....go look at a saturn that has a parking lot ding, and look at the wrinkles in the paint...maybe if it was gonna be a trailer queen, only towed around to shows, but if it's a daily driver, good luck.

Try clicking on Galerij upper right side. It takes awhile to load. The site seems slow today but it does give many other options. Good luck

I've been collecting Smart paint jobs for my gallery. Click on it and give it a look. Sorry about the 4 duplicates...I'm new at this technology.

There's no amount of Flex Agent or Adhesion Promoter that's going to keep a paint film that thick and brittle on plastics this flexible. Will it *go* on? Yes. Stay on? Doubtful. Not after a panel gets flexed a few times.

(Trust me, as a chopper builder I did tons of flakes and candys.. I know of what I speak..)

Cheers,

Johnny
