That's odd.. I didn't know that the radio had to come out? IIRC, you pull out the center switches, remove one torx screw back there and then lift off the plastic "hood". The plug should be right there on top.

Weird.

You don't have to take out the radio, the wire for mine was folded over on top and taped. It only took about 20 min to do the whole job. The connector was easy to see from outside the car.

I found it. It was tied to one of the wire bundles. There is no way I would have gotten to the connector without the radio being out. One problem I have is while pulling out the "button bank" part of the back of the back became separated. It seems like it should just snap back in but so far no luck.....

I've had that happen before as I've pulled my button bank out several times. It just snapped back together with some healthy muscle fingers.

Thanks kids! The job is complete except for snapping the back of the button bank back together. Can't seem to get it back in place......to be continued tomorrow.

Thanks for the tips! This is quite an accomplishment for a guy who is all thumbs when it comes to DIY!

FYI....per the instructions from the link at the beginning of this thread I had to pull the radio out. It's very easy. The connector was not visible from the top.
I was hoping it would be as some of you have experienced. Either way it's an easy job.

Does that mean that you're going to warranty the work on the pods and that the pods would then be covered under the manufacturers warranty ... like they are if the dealer installs them?

There's a reason the dealer charges what they do, and why sometimes it's better to take the vehicle to the dealership for service and installation. Much as I'm sure you're competent and can install the parts there's quite a bit to be said for the piece of mind you get when you can take something to the dealership that's covered under warranty and have it fixed.

No offense.

Your pal,
Meat.

why would the pods not be covered under warranty? plugging an OEM part into an OEM connector all by yourself shouldn't un-warranty anything.

maybe we shouldn't be trusted with putting gas in the gas tank either. better take that to the stealership and have a tech do it for you. ;)
