Bike Rack

To all of you who have made a bike rack/ trailer hitch. I am in need of one! I like the looks/ functionality of the one from Smart car universe and have seen soom home made ones here. If you made one with the square opening can you offer another one for sale? I need the hitch and the bike rack for 2 bikes. I will pay a fair price for them.

That's the one I want but can't see spending up to $1000.00 for a hitch and bikerack. I was hoping that some of the more handy people here that made their own could help me out.

We are in the final stages of development on a bike rack/ski rack/snowboard rack. It will be lightweight, easy to put on and take off, affortable and you will not need a hitch.

We are shooting for August 1st... Stay tuned!

I bought a $89 Yakima 2 bike rack from my local REI store (Outdoor Store) It fits fine and works great. No voiding the warranty here folks.

My pictures coming soon!

My apologies...

Smart Madness Home Page. All the products are not up on the site yet. The site is live, but not finished. Due to this we have not started to advertise...yet.

Thank you!

The rack attaches to the two towing points on your rear bumper with ease. This offers you a very sturdy connection, ease of installation, no need for modification of anything. It does not touch any of the panels, can easily hold two bikes (mountain bikes or cruisers). We have also been testing it under driving conditions and the results have been fantastic. In addition we are designing the rack to convert from a bike rack to a ski rack and even to a snowboard rack.

We have the protype pics of it on our site under "bike racks" and we should start production in the first week of August. So, hopefully it will be ready in time for your vacation.

We are designing it to be durable, easy to use, sturdy and at the same time come in at a price point where it is very affortable. Let's just say it will cost more than a made to fit cover that straps on to the back of the car (which I have personally had and got rid of after it rubbed the paint off my trunk lid on my other car) and much, much less than the Smart version.

As soon as it is ready for shipment we will update our site with that information.

Thank you!
