BP Air Scoop and Fuel Lid - Carbon Fiber

Just received from Breathless Products the Carbon Fiber Air Scoop and the Carbon Fiber Gas Lid. Both look very good. The Air Scoop had a line of bubbles through it and the gas lid has tiny bubbles around the visible edge, doesn't show good. I emailed Ernie and he said he would replace it. The inside of the scoop is visible when attached, it would be nice to have a better finish inside also. I am going to sand mine a little smoother inside and paint it black. Right now it looks like dark gray bondo. The Gas Lid is not easy to glue and align, it came it a tube of GOOP adhesive which runs when trying to attach the gas lid. I am going to try another approach.

Goop is junk. Get a roll of 3M molding attachment tape. Run it around the edge of the cover, put a small square in the center, and put it in place. The tape is grey, so even though it's thin, you might want to run a permanent black marker over the edge before attaching it. You can use dental floss to remove it if you ever need to.

Tape will not work for the Gas Lid. You have to remove the factory lid and glue it to the waffled plastic rectangle. Tape only works on flat surfaces.

Actually you do not need to put to much goop on the gas door. Just a little on both sides and use masking tape in a cross pattern to hold it in place. If done right you will not have any leaking down.

I decided to send both of mine back to BPP for a refund. I'll wait until their product is bubbleless.
