I like it. I also like the thought of gaining more HP. However, I do not want that 'throaty' sound. I know a lot of young kids in civics have cold air intakes trying to get their cars to sound like it came off the production of the Fast and the Furious or something.

I suspect the real reason it sticks out is not by design but because it is fibreglass and fits over the original valance. You could negate this problem simply by making some arch extensions like the 451 Brabus ones. This would carry the extra width over the wheel arch where you could taper it into the replacement skirts.
Same could be done with the front arches and the front spoiler.

First on our website we did state that it replaces the Valance and does not stick on top of it. We had said that our parts do not stick on the factory panels like the others out there.
It is set a little wide to match the wider side skirts that replaces the factory side panel.
