I second your endorsement of this neat smart item. Also, it makes the smartie look more stylish in the interior because it's well made.

I recommend leaving the cover at home when not in use, as opposed to keeping it in the lowered position. There are two reasons for this. First of all, it limits your passenger seat's rearward travel by a relatively large amount. Secondly, if a passenger hops in and carelessly slams the seat backwards seeking more leg room, the hard contact with the stored cover transfers straight to the plastic trim piece (passenger side) that captures it and can pull the whole thing free of its fasteners.

why dont you consider the 4 compartment cargo bag i have listed on my site.

its heavy duty with a zippered top and can be moved from car to car..

my wife uses it in our toyota to keep the shopping from flopping around.

$99.00 and made to fit the smart 450/451

I got a 2 compartment thing at Target for $14.99. Works great! Folds into a flat thing (with velcro straps to hold it tight to itself) that can squish behind the drivers seat out of the way when I don't need it, has little velcro feet to hold it in place when using it. Nothing fancy, just two "box" shaped compartments, no lid. But it's 10% of the cost of the cargo cover dealy. It'll hold things from flopping around. Doesn't hide things, though... perhaps a small towel or blanket to cover it? Hmmm... I'll have to think of something for that...

Does anybody know if the factory cargo cover works in the cabrio? I don't know if there are mounting points in the cabrio that are different than those in the coupe. Thanks.

Yes, I just got and installed mine. I think you are referring to the "Divider plus" cargo cover. Having just completed this install, I'll tell you it takes a little bit of time because the brackets have to be installed. I'm planning on posting a link to a PDF of instructions I made for this. Search for a thread called "Installation Instructions".

WOW no sales tax for out of state sales
cargo cover on smarcarparts $189.95 + $22.50 shipping = $212.45
cargo cover at dealer $149.00 + $13.41 tax = $162.41

Will be a hard decision on where I will purchase
