So, just a thought but maybe a plug (similar to block heater plugs) would be ideal - wouldn't have to remove the service flap if covered in ice or snow. Not sure if a plug exists that would work with a battery charger but it would make a "plug and play" setup if one did.
You could make a pig tail using a set of jumper cables. take the pincher's off one end and put the plug on. the other plug would go directly to the battery and stored on the shelf on the passenger side. I thought about it but then I thought I did not want to carry the jumper cables around with me.
I'm not familiar with these, but shouldn't they be a bit farther apart? They seem somewhat too close, but maybe it's just me and it's tough to view the scale from the picture.
