Cupholders #3 and #4

i saw the accessory side-cupholder you can buy online for something like 92 dollars...

but before you get one of those... take a look at the factory-equipped 'extra' cupholders... one for the passenger and one for the driver..

this doesnt really count as a modification... but i dont think it was the intended use...?

they work perfectly for me!

Great minds may think alike...but it's good to share those thoughts.

That's interesting that you hit upon the same solution as we did when my wife wanted a bottle of water to carry with us and we were stopping to get a couple of soft drinks at McDonald's. The soft drinks went in the cup holder and that spot was instantly used to keep the bottle from rolling around or falling over in the floor board. I've already wished that the side pockets in the door were either a little wider to hold a bottle or made of a flexible, stretchy material that could stretch to accommodate a little bigger objects than will fit in the rigid space provided.

It didn't even dawn on me to share that tip about the creative use of the space behind the seat adjustment lever, but now that you have, I realize how things that are obvious to some may not be that way to others so who knows what other things people like us may be not recognizing.

That's great! Yet another hidden kernel of knowledge to have beforehand. Thanks.

i forgot to mention that these 'cupholders' are impervious to the buildup of keys, coins, receipts, garage door openers, flotsam, jetsam, etc, that is quite commonplace with the two reservoir-style cupholders in front of the gear-selector.

apparently the extra cupholder that comes stacked inside one of the existing cupholders is to offset the positions of taller/wider brim cups, so that the brims dont bonk each other and cause them to lean.

when i first got my smartie i tossed the clunky extra cupholder behind the seat, only to realize its purpose as i tried to stack two large coffees in the cupholders without the clunky cupholder.
