Custom Paint Options for smarts?

I've done my best at searching but can't find a thread about people getting their smarts painted.

Here's what I'm looking for:

Who has had their smart custom painted or has a resource for custom painted panels?

I'd like to know what one could expect to pay to have a smart painted.

It seems there was once a thread from a guy who you could ship your panels to (or he'd buy new ones) custom paint them and ship them back. If I recall, his price was around $1200 to paint yours and double that to buy new panels to paint for you. Where is that thread?

I paid a bit more going through the dealer, but everything was beautiful when the car was delivered and the local shop that painted it for our Smart Center does superb work. The same shop did body work and paint touch-ups for both my Z3 and Z4 before my Smart. Always professional and superb work.

I've had 2 occasions to go back to them with my Smart already. If you "have a guy" across the country, you might not get as clean a paint match when you have to get things touched-up or get a replacement panel.

Hey Suze
I am the owner of the green smart painted by baby benz It is on the opening page of his site(see above) He did an amazing job. He can do any color you want except mine :-)

Oh come on - she's on the other side of the US. It would be OK to have one more Smart your color though it is a bit shocking whenever you discover there is a close twin to your "one-of-a-kind" car.

Let us know what solution you come up with.
