Drivers Armrest

I have to say that whoever makes this will for sure get a purchase for me. I think its the biggest thing thats going to bug me about the car. Is there anything out there for the 450 that has worked? Maybe something like a PT Cruiser armrest that is attached the seat and can swing up or down, or somekind of console that will fit over the Ebrake boot.

When the MINI came out, everybody wanted an arm rest also. I'd be super surprised if there wasn't a vast market of aftermarket suppliers for things like armrests, cruise control, visor mounted garage door openers.. it will happen. I'm sure.

Can't agree more.

I just purchased an armrest on Ebay under item# 360007981479. Thankfully, Armrest Kingdom sells them for both the 450 & 451. Total cost was $106 which included shipping to my door.

How about a roll of paper towels stuffed down in between the seats?

Rrucke;

You ought to put together a reference for all the 451 accessories you've found. I know I'd be interested in seeing what's available out there.

Armrest Options

The previously mentioned armrest, which can be purchased from Armrest Kingdom (Canada), is a floor mounted unit which can be opened for storage with the storage compartment being carpeted. It is to be found only as black and I could not find out what the covering material was, probably vinyl. It is a good buy at $106 (shipping included).

I have ordered an alternate armrest from SmartsRUs (England) which is the version that is mounted to the seat and therefore tracks it's movement. The unit I ordered is covered in OEM smartcar black leather and is more than double the price of the Armrest Kingdom unit at £125 ($245 at time of purchase). Definitely pricey, but not having seen either unit except in pictures, went for the leather one. A large number of other armrest coverings are also available. Try www.smartsrus.com if this interests you.

Have also seen pictures of the Brabus brake and accelerator pedal upgrades, but have not found any source for them. Anyone spotted them?

Let us know what you think of it. Most folks that got the armrest for the MINI, took them back out. I, for one, thought I needed it too, but after a few weeks of driving the MINI, never felt the need for it. The car is too fun to drive with two arms to have one atrophying on an armrest.
