Elbow and knee comfort

I've taken a few longer trips and my left elbow and knee have been bothered with the hard surfaces.
Being a biege interior, the Dr Scholl's Molefoam is a pretty close match.
Here's some pictures:

here's the pattern, the pad is just a little small to be perfect but on the panel it looks fine.

Same problem here with the elbow.--Black interior. Mole-skin is too thin, my elbow is so bony that I actually broke through the armrest in my Miata (smartly replaced by my cabriolet).

I need a more cushioned armrest, hopefully in an appropriate color. I am considering a sandwich of black mouse pads, but the edges will look ratty and continue to degenerate. Anybody find an aftermarket stick-on pad. Other than that, I love the car. I can't wait to leave my office and drive the 1 hour to get home.

Have an auto upholsterer do something for you. It will look much better than a CORN pad on the armrest and will be an upgrade in function an looks.

Now that you mention it, the window crank handle on the Pure model is exactly where my knee rests against the door. I moved the handle so it is a little out of the way with th window closed, but with it opened just a bit, it hits my knee.

Should have gotten the Cabrio with power windows...

Your right... That Material smart uses is "Abrasive As Hell" on the skin after awhile...!!! I think the Mercedes Engineers that design the interior of the Smart should have to get out of the Benz they drive to work everyday like the one below, and "LIVE-IN-A-SMART" for a year, and I think we would have some of the Glaring Flaws fixed by the second year if they were told they were going to have to "LIVE-IN-A-SMART" for a second YEAR...!!!

Poofy sleeves.

I spent a while at the upholsters today.

First, it pays to shop around. Which armrest do you have now? As they said before, a good upholster can recover and add padding or make an additional cover to go on it.
