Engine bay is painted take a look

Ok guys as you can tell I have been getting really bored lately and thinking what more could I possibly due. Well the boredum took its toll and here is what we came up with. I was sick of the nasty finish from factory I decided to take matters into my own hands. Take a look!

Excellent job !!

Painting an unseen area that is constantly covered up with carpet takes a different kind of dedication....

Ya can't swap body panels now....

But, the original finish was powder coated. Are you sure your paint can hold up to the high heat generated in that area ? It would beyond suck if the next time you want to check your oil and you find out that you can't lift the carpet.

LMAO! "Beyond Suck!!" I love the way you think! And when are we gettin' together for a beer or 3?

It's pretty wild looking! Kinda hurts the eyes a bit! But as Mudpie suggested, sure hope it's high heat suitable paint!!

You can paint your engine block with automotive paint as well it will hold up! Also by the was it you have a silver cell your engine bay is painted not powdercoated *********************

I did not know that. It was my understanding that smart was bragging about all metal parts being powdercoated, as it causes no overspray, etc., and is "greener" than a regular painting process.
