The packaging was really nice for the price. Installation was straight forward, and all plug & play as claimed. The most challenging part was getting the new HID bulbs in and retained; this was due to lack of space. The whole installation took less than 30 minutes. The overall light is white with a slight tint of blue in the color band. The last picture was taken with my phone.
Overall, I'm happy with the result. I had problems with an ebay set I got for my truck, we'll see how this set hold up.
i have had mine in since the car was 2 days old now it's 6 months old... mine are 6000k but they are 55w hid's and are bright as anything, i've never seen better headlights out on the open road, i got mine from HKG and they were much cheaper too...
i drive mainly at night and the lights are on 90% of the time and still no probs, i'd reccommend the hid's over the top of the line phillips hallogen globes anyday considering they cost half as much again as what i paid and put out less light!
The set I had on the truck kept giving me problems. The passenger ballast/bulb went out on me twice so I gave up an disconnected them; and it costs twice as much as the set I just got. They were even installed using a custom harness with proper relays too.
They were suppose to last 100K miles :-( If these fail me, I'm done with aftermarket lights for good.
My smart also has 6000k and no probs after 2000 miles. I had 8000k eBay lights on my truck for 2 years and no probs.
I have had problems, but it seems to be limited to the car and not the lights.
I have the same kit with 8000K's, I love the look and color. You may have to adjust the lights down a little, when the car squats (if you have stock suspension) it hits the rear view mirror of the driver in front of you. I installed stiffer springs so no problem.
