Placed a bid, see what happens?

Howdy
I have been looking for something like this.

So, I placed a bid.
We'll see what happens?

(bidding started at $10 and is up to $25)

List is $29.99 so I might get a bargain?

Ebay shipping is only $1, so if I win it for less than list?

I just confirmed list price is $29.99 + 10.01 S&H = $40
So, If I win the ebay auction for $38 (or less) + $1 S&H I will get a bargain?

I won i won i won

won the auction for $34.75 + $1 S&H = $35.75.

So, I saved $4.25 over direct retail?

I'll let you know details (and pics) when it arrives and I get it mounted.

I can see a rear mount, but how does it work with the drop gate? Seems as though it would interfere.

That will seriously mess with the Air Bag sensors in the event of a front end collision. I hope the people making it have good Product Liability Insurance.

Air bag sensors are accelerometers which are not part of the physical bumper. If the tire happens to cushion the collision to the point where the intense deceleration is below the airbag deployment threshold, the tire saves the driver and the airbag. Otherwise, the deceleration is extreme and the airbag deplys anyway. No problems.

You have obviously never dealt with the "percentage of blame" game played by insurance companies. If your insurance company, or the provider of the other person involved in your accident, decides that your rash decision to hang a tire off the front of your car in any way contributed to the consequences or damage in an accident, YOU will be assessed a percentage of the cost, and YOU will pay it. Period. The whole reasoning behind the legislated redesign of many new cars is to lessen the damage to the idiot that walks out in front of you. Hanging a tire off the front of the car will not lessen the damage. And you will pay, or the guy who sold it to you will pay.

Yup, remember, the hood and plastic panels all around the car have been designed and tested with pedestrian impact in mind. Put a chrome "push bar" on the front, and a pedestrian that could have walked away with a bruise may end up in the hospital with fractured kneecaps. The insurance could say you altered the safety characteristics, and contributed to the difference in injury. Laws are stupid sometimes, but... if you were hit by someone with a soft bumper but decorative spikes in the front, would you be content with "that's ok, it'll heal" or would you want your medical bills paid?
