i like the tire mount but i would prefer to place it on the rear of the vehicle just incase if it does fail it wont fall and you run it over causing an accident. but then again if placed in the rear the car behind you will end up in the accident. its a lose lose situation

Luckily, in this litigious society everyone is an expert. So if you need to venture outside the confines of your own home, people can tell you how you'll be sued.

i am glad somebody said it and not me, I agree with that too. The tire fits perfectly in the rear trunk space laid out flat.

I have talked with a tow truck driver about using the 'tow hooks' and he claimed they are not that strong and he stays away from using them if possible. A number of posts have mentioned about re-welding them and reinforcing the bumper to mount racks on the bolt holes. Adding a tire mount to the tow mount holes may stress the bumper if you figure the weight of the tire times the distance from the threads, this gives you the torque on the threads. the farther out, the more stress on the bumper. I agree with throwing it in the 'boot'

Personally, i think it takes away from the looks and clean lines

At out last Indy meet at Eagle Creek Park, someone had a really cool setup for a spare. BUT it involved sacrificing some of the tailgate storage.

Still, he did a great job and was very well thought out.

...only wish I had gotten pics of it.

Only problem with that theory is that you forget you might have 'jetfuel' flying over your house sometime......how do you avoid THAT?
