I swapped mine out for a colo(u)r-matched one...
There are two tabs you need to work with a thin tool; I used a putty knife, although I suppose a butter knife would do in a pinch. Work the blade in from the back side, top and bottom, and carefully depress the tabs, and the intake grille will pop right out, neat as you please. The tabs are roughly behind the top "cell" divider and the bottom one; in the photo, my putty knife is more or less centered between the tabs.
