Has anyone painted their taillights

I just ordered some smoke paint for my taillights but wanted to see if anyone else had done this yet?

If so, did you paint over the clear reverse lamp area too?

I don't know if I should paint the whole thing or leave the clear exposed.

As for this being illegal, yes it is and I'm willing to take the risk.

Illegal, yes...smart, no. I can't imagine a worse car to reduce rear visibility on. Unless you're going to put really bright bulbs in as a replacement - I wouldn't even consider this.

SmartPassion has some cool tinted Vinyl over his tail lights. It looks very good, the car is still very visible, and its not permanent. They are fitted for the smart too.

In 4smartcar.com photo gallery the "Ferrari Red" has smoked tail lights. Did the 3rd brake light too. I'm sure they can do some sort of core exchange. Looks HOT!!!
