HID Head Lights

I am considering buying one of the aftermarket HiD conversion kits. Does anybody have experience with the results? I am not worried about being able to do it, just whether it will work and be an improvement.

Thanks

Absolutely LOVE mine, and after properly adjusting the headlight beams, I get nobody flashing me. (people were flashing me BEFORE i put the HID's in because of how they are angled high from the factory.) went with 4500K color. Will do 6000K on the set I put on the Brabus. No real noticeable difference in visibility between the two, but 6000K is more blue in color. 4500K is almost pure white. Install was super easy, and in a couple of weeks I'm gonna pull the front clip off again and remount the ballasts. Will probably do my angel-eye mod at the same time, but I'm still working on the details with that setup. Trying to do something less obvious when the system is not on.

I don't see the need. If I want more light, I hit the high beams. With the high beams I find the signs to bright.

If you feel you need more light on the low beams try silverstars and make sure your headlights are aimed low enough not to flash other drivers.

If you go with the HID Kits, check to see if they are DOT approved. Most are not.

I found no real difference with the Silverstars except for them being way more expensive than stock bulbs. I ended up going with the 5000k HID's and found them a BIG improvement. There's a lot of useful info in this thread:

I got a used (month) set for $40 shipped, if you're interested. They are easy to install and look great, however, I'm going to piece together an OEM set so I'm not putting these back on the car.

They're Xenon-Vision, apparently, are selling like hotcakes on the board.

You know I like ya but Silverstars don't hold a candle to the HID's... I had Silverstars in Dracha and then switched to 4500k HID's... I could see twice the road with the HID's and the white light made it much clearer. Just wish I could do HID's for the fog lights... I'm sure there's a kit somewhere....
