Interior Lighting suggestions?

One minor issue I have with my fortwo is that I wish there was more interior lighting. Perhaps practice will make perfect, however, replacing the engine cover in the shadow was a bit of a PAIN. I saw some mention of Brabus 'ambient' (does ambient really mean $$$?) but I am very interested in any recommendations or solutions. This is particularly true as I just added the cargo tonneau, which, will a great accessory, really increases the 'shade'.

Comments?

Is there enough room for one or more of those stick-on lights?

There's a DIY on the Evilution site to add extra lighting below the knee bolster (entry lighting); haven't seen anything for the cargo area but it should be fairly easy to put a light on either side up high back there and wire them into the front light so they all operate together. Without a car to experiment on that's a guess on my part but it should work.

I was also thinking I might use one of those in the hatch as a quick and dirty solution.

Can anyone advise whether there is a way to get the dome light to go on and off when the doors are opened/closed.

Thanks,
DavidV

yes, just play with the switch on the light. one position is "off", one position is "on when doors open" and one position is "always on".

I agree. They usually come 3 in a pack so we'll have to find places for the other 2 (seriously, I would use these.)

OK, let me ask the question a different way. In which position should the switch set the light to turn on and off with the doors if it were functioning correctly - forward towards the windshield or back towards the cabin? On our car, neither forward nor back seems to change anything.

Thanks,
DavidV

i have it where the down part is towards to the interior (up part is towards the wind shield). this comes on and goes off with the door.

In the 450's there is a light overhead centrally just inside the rear hatch. It comes on at night when the doors or back hatch are opened. Did they remove this light in the 451? If so, not smart. Be nice to have a similar light there in the 451's. after market? Add on the 450 light fixture?? or any fixture?
