LED Lighting

Did LED's on the SMART

Still sorting out what works best, but this is where I'm at now:

Interior Dome
Super Star 31mm Feston
Festoon Dome Lights

Awesome and staying
You need to bend the tabs in on the spring clips, to hold this shorter lamp.
The LED technology in this lamp is very bright and uniform, so its a much better choice than the 4 LED 36mm (which would fit better).

Rear License Plate
4 LED 36mm Feston, Super White
Festoon Dome Lights

These are perfect and staying.

Rear Stop/Turn/Park

Eagle Eye Tower, Red
1157 1156 Superlumination.com leds (Automotive Replacement Light Bulbs, Headlights, Foglights & Lamps)

I have Super White now, but they look a little orange so, I am exchanging for Red

Rear High Stop
921 9 LED
or
921 Matrix
906 921 Interior Lights

I currently have 921 9 LED in Super White, and it's a bit pink so, I will also exchange for Red and order the 921 Matrix to try also.

Front Park:
Still undecided between:
SMT Tower, Super White
Matrix 5 LED; Cool White
Matrix 5 LED; Warm White
194 168 W5W 2825 Map Led Parking Signal Marker Bulbs

One of my SMT Towers was bad and is getting replaced.
I'm also going to order the 2 different colors of Matrix 5 LED and compare all 3.
I already decided against Amber (stock color) as White gives much more light.

Side Turn
Leaving stock for now
(read below)

Front Turn
Had to change to another Conventional [Non-LED] Bulb
(read below)

I love the LED's and the reduction in alternator load (-2.6A) with lights on and especially with brake pedal depressed (-5.8A).

However, I did get the dreaded fast flash on the left side only.
I did not want to run a load resistor, as that defeats the whole purpose of LED's (low current draw).

I found a conventional bulb with higher current draw (3A) than the stock front turn bulbs (2.2A).
BulbTown.Com - Your Source For Ansi Bulbs, Light Bulbs, Miniature Bulbs & Hard To Find Specialty Bulbs!

These worked like a charm and eliminated the fast flash.
To get them to fit you need to punch one bayonet prong down (very slightly) with a hammer & punch.
Don't grind it off as you will break the seal on the lamp.

I only changed the left side, since my right side has no issues.

I left the stock lamps in the side turns to help with load (see above).
However, their load is minimal, so I will likely change them to 5 LED Matrix in Amber, once I confirm my fast flash does not return.

I can live with conventional bulbs (non-LED) in the Front Turns, since they only flash (low duty cycle) and are not part of the running/parking light system.

I converted mine to LED all the way around. I posted pic here in the past. the blinkers are load resistored front and back. My back LEDs produced Hyper flash also. I used the LED in the front because my Directional bulbs are also my DRL when the lights are off. I was concerned about high heat in the DRLs.

So every single bulb is LED?

Or do you still run with the projector beams?

Is there a such thing as LED headlamps?

Headlamps and Fogs are not LED. Fogs will be one of these days.

A quick Google search showed this site with LED fog light bulbs, I would imagine there are others.
