I am of the same exact mind as my brother out in Williamsburg VA....
I am still churning in the back of my head what sort of smart ass (pun intended) badging to put on my Passion Cabrio --- That is --- if I ever achieve the dream of actually getting one for under $20K in a reasonable time frame
I name my motor cycles but never have named a car or truck...
Sometimes I do get aftermarket badges, usually they are better looking then the factory el cheapo stamped crapola....
My current Ford F350 is the King Ranch version and has the V10 gas motor. There is always an ongoing "mine is bigger 'n your's" fight between the Power Stroke Diesel (PSD) guys and the gas motor guys.
In my helicopter days UH-1H Hueys or AH-1F Cobras, both single engine birds, we crew chiefs had a little chant at start up...."One burning, Two turning" to tell the pilot that the motor had started and BOTH the main rotor and tail rotor were not still tied down but in fact were rotating....
I used a modified version of this on a Ford Truck Forum where I am sort of the V10 gas truck guru..... "10 Burning, Four turning"
Since I am really buying this Smart car to be a local commute fun car to save miles on my big expensive toys, I probably will hot rod the hell out of it.... So I am sure I will put some form of badging on it but not sure what right now.
It will NOT be a MB emblem.... I have owned a few REAL Mercedes toys and I will always consider the Smart as a Swatch first. MB was just the production facility they finally made a deal to produce them with....I might have a different perspective if the Smart was really a MB engineering idea but from what I read of the history it is not
